BROOKS'S BACKGROUND
Brooks Kohler is the founder of Laptiast.com and has over ten years professional writing experience. As a writer, his work appears in both print and online publications.
From 2003 to 2007, Brooks wrote short stories for Reppert Publications in Anna, IL.
From 2005 to 2007 Brooks worked for Amylase Entertainment in Nashville, TN, where he worked on screenplays. Returning to Illinois in 2008, he sold advertising for Reppert Publications before joining Shawnee Community College in Ullin, IL, as an adjunct instructor of liberal arts.
Brooks received an offer, in 2017, to help establish 40 Below Joe coffee.
In 2019 Brooks left 40 Below Joe to resume focus on Laptiast.com.
In November 2020, Brooks closed Laptiast.com to focus on teaching and writing.
In 2022, Brooks reopened Laptiast.com.
Brooks is a member of Phi Alpha Theta in the Field of History. He holds an M.A. in History and a B.A. in Philosophy from Southeast Missouri State University in Cape Girardeau, MO.
